Light P(ai)nting

Recently I collaborated with Forma Lighting on a physical lighting installation incorporating krea_ai and digital art for #Disruptia 2024, organised with Light Collective.

Light Collective are not a standard lighting consultancy… their creative portfolio of work houses more than architectural lighting design and has grown to encompass many innovative projects which include light art installations, marketing projects, competitions, curated exhibitions, lighting awards, branding, trade stands and shows, epic parties, pop up events, guerrilla lighting, community projects, writing books, activism and light education.

DISRUPTIA is a unique event that aims to show the latest in technology (Artificial Intelligence, Immersive Installations, augmented reality, metaverse, neuroarchitecture, 3D printing, User Interfaces, NFT and blockchain) to see how it will affect us in the Lighting and Architecture Industry.

I was approached by Light Collective to bring my knowledge and experience of creative AI tools, and combine it with Forma’s motorised range of LED track lights to create a fun, interactive installation that would spark conversation about the use of AI in the design process, and what it can offer beyond the usual confines of entering a prompt and pressing enter.

Today, I present a short video outlining the concept, process and results of our installation. Hope you enjoy. The feedback so far has been highly positive all round, and I hope to build on this concept moving forward.

This week I’ve been binge watching “Gangs of London”, and dropping my first NFT on Aptos with Rarible! (More on that soon).
